Brian Adam’s song – ‘Everything I do, I do it for you’, it’s one of my favorites. While cooking chicken biryani yesterday night for dinner I was listening to it and humming along. It goes somewhat like ‘ Look into my eyes, you will see what you mean to me..!’

My son said, ‘Mumma Valentine’s Day is tomorrow, please play some groovy song now, aap Papa ko kal suna lena yeh.!’ I quickly replied, “ I am listening to the song because I like it, Papa ko nahi suna rahi hu, samjhe!” to which he retorted, “haan haan pata hai, I am just kidding, you guys are already married so gaano ki zarurat nahi”

I thought to myself at night, ‘husband -wife’ relation – the most taken for granted one yet the strongest one of all in one’s life…!

A poetry written as a gentle reminder to all my dear married friends, who just like us, are engrossed in their daily lives, to pause for a bit, to celebrate, to enjoy, to cherish and most importantly to ‘express’ their love to each other. After all the sky is reflecting a shade of red and love is in the air today for its the 14th of February, the Valentine’s Day !!

तेरा मेरा प्यार

जो शब्दों में बुन दूँ मैं तो ‘कविता’
जो बिन कहे समझे तू वो ‘प्यार’
संग जी लेना थोड़ा रूक कर, मुस्कुराकर,
सिर्फ़ अपने हिस्से के भी हसीन पल चार ।

तेरे मन में जो कहीं छिप गया है ना,
उसी प्यार को ज़रा खुलके जताकर,चाय की दो चुस्कियों संग अपने दिल का हाल बताकर ।

मानती हूँ मैं जीवन का नियम कुछ सख़्त है,
मेहनत करके ज़िम्मेदारियाँ निभाने का यही तो वक़्त है,
पर घड़ी की इन सुइयों के संग
जीवन भी तो चलता जा रहा है
रेत की तरह धीमें-धीमें चुपचाप हाथों से फिसला जा रहा है ।

थाम लेना इन हाथों को मेरे,
पल भर तेरी आँखों में खो जाने दे,
मेरे जीवनसाथी इस जीवन का थोड़ा सा हिस्सा सिर्फ़ प्यार के लिए भी तो बिताने दे !
