With the initial ‘love in the air’ phase passing out and the marital life mundane routine dominating our personal lives somehow expressing feelings and love in words is left out. We end up presuming that as the other person is already aware of our attachment with them, they dont really need to be told in words what they mean to us, but in reality who doesn’t like to be treated special, at least once in a while? Who wouldn’t get happy with an acknowledgement of how close they are to your heart?

Many a times husbands and wives tend to leave out this very important aspect of ‘expressing in words’, however in the actions love always remains, isn’t it?

My poetry ‘Batlao Naa….’ (बतलाओ ना…..) is based on the same thought.

तुमको मुझसे और मुझको तुमसे जो बाँधे हुए ये दिलों की तार है,

परवाह तुम्हारी है ख़ुद से ज़्यादा क्या इसी का मतलब प्यार हैं?

बतलाओ ना मुझे, समझा भी दो, जो शब्दों में ना कह पाते हों,

मेरी हँसी से तुम खिल जाते हो, क्या ऐसे ही प्यार जताते हो ?

बिना कहे शब्दों में, मेरे मन की स्थिति तुम जान जातें हो,

नाराज़गी चाहें कभी मन में हो पर दिल से साथ निभाते हो,

बतलाओ ना मुझे, समझा भी दो, क्या ऐसे ही प्यार जताते हो ?

घर में कदम रखते ही जो मुझे तुम आवाज़ लगाते हो,

पानी का गिलास मुझसे लेते जो मंद-मंद मुस्काते हो,

प्यार से मैंने बनाया खाना जो तुम स्वाद लेकर खाते हो,

टीवी पर समाचार देखते हुए मेरी कलाई जो धीमें से सहलाते हो,

बतलाओ ना मुझे, समझा भी दो, क्या ऐसे ही तुम प्यार जताते हो….?
